Cherie grew up in the Maryland suburbs outside of Washington, D.C. with her mother and older sister. Growing up her mother always emphasized the importance of school and education. As a teenager Cherie explored a number of different subjects and interests in school, but nothing quite stuck like the arts. Her vibrant personality and love for life have always made her a perfect fit for entertainment. After losing her mother to cancer at the early age of 17, she quickly learned the lesson that life is a gift and is meant to be lived. Unfortunately her mom passed before she got the opportunity to share her new discoveries and love for acting. She instinctively found the gumption needed to pack up and send herself off to college. After graduating high school she attended Hampton University for two years in the neighboring state of Virginia, and from there she transferred to the University of Maryland to study Theatre at the highly accredited Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Her experiences in college were a bit challenging after being sheltered by her mom for so many years, but she eventually settled into adulthood and moved forward in the decision to reach her goals and pursue her dreams. She discovered in a university production of the play “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf”, a means to express her emotions through the characters and their stories. Through performance she found a sense of freedom, self-expression, and purpose. She often uses these experiences today as an 'instruction manual' to refer to in her work.

After graduating college and receiving her Bachelors, her focus shifted to finding ways to create opportunities to explore new artistic challenges. She quickly packed up and moved to Los Angeles to swim with the big fish. It didn't take long for her to find commercial & print success working with leading advertisers such as Neutrogena, Wella Professional, Proctor & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson. Cherie proves to be more than just a commercial talent as she's narrowed her focus to film and television. She's determined to continue her journey and successfully reach her goals.

For Cherie life outside of the world of entertainment is equally eventful and exciting. Between projects she finds time to explore other interests which include pursuing a degree in American Sign Language and learning Spanish as a second language. During her down time you can find her out and about…running, hiking, reading, dancing, whizzing pass you on her motorcycle, taking some new class, and occasionally, indoors trying out a new recipe :-)
